A Very Good Spell, Imprisonment, Written by me

Continuing the topic of D&D spells but this time written by me, the spell Imprisonment is a powerful 9th level spell that can permanently trap an enemy on a failed Wisdom save. The magical restraint can vary depending on what spell you use to cast it. The caster can set requirements for the spell to end early, such as releasing if the target joins you or if a specific person comes in contact with the target.

The first powerful Imprisonment is the Burial, in which the target is entombed in a magical sphere far beneath the ground. Nothing can teleport in or out of the sphere. This can make a fantastic story point for any game.

The second Imprisonment is known as Chaining, in which heavy chains are firmly rooted into the ground and trapping the target, unable to move and is restrained until the spell ends. This can be used as a centerpiece for a town or even a point of power for an antagonist.

The third is a Hedged Prison, Where the target is taken to a small demiplane barred from teleportation and planar travel. The demiplane could take several forms, such as a labyrinth, a tower, or any confined space of the players choice. This could make a very fun side mission, being trapped in a maze with only one exit, or a tower in which the party would have to break out of.

The fourth is my personal favorite, The Minimus Containment. The target is shrunk to one inch and imprisoned in a gem, light passes through normally, but teleportation and planar travel is unable to work. The gemstone is invulnerable from all attacks and cannot be broken until the spell ends. This can be great for party incentive, trapping an ally in a gemstone or even giving a party member someone in the gem as part of their backstory.

And finally, a simple one, Slumber, in which the target falls asleep and cannot be awakened.

The Imprisonment spell has a lot of options and moreso a lot of very fun plot points that it can create. The only way to break an Imprisonment spell other then the met conditions is by a dispel magic used at a 9th level slot.
